The Timbers not so easy mission

A wondrous performance yesterday in Houston for the Portland Timbers but with a hefty price to pay after seeing three of its notable players sidelined with injuries, making it a bit tough for Caleb Porter scheme.

With Diego Chara sidelined with a campaign ending injury, as for Larry Mabbialas, Darlington Nagbe, Sebastian Blanco and David Guzman on day to day, very well the continuance of Faneando Adi woes.

It does not come easy for the Rose City squad on the eve of playing their decisive match at home.

Still the positive that Caleb Porter possesses a certain magic to rally his troops as well make some moves in his initial eleven that can deliver alongside the help of the twelve player in the home crowd we  may see a different story.

Here when the Cheesmaster moves will pay off for Porter, after his bold improvisations he makes in his lineups depleted with injuries and still overcomes the odds.

As you are aware of this campaign that the Portland squad had to endure after a magnificent start, later injuries put the team on the brink of catastrophe, the endurance, and perseverance seen by the many moves Porter made brought this squad to the semifinals.

However, they are to play a second leg after showing off a total poise and determination of not allowing the local Houston Dynamo in the first game away, denying the way to inspire the game they are comfortable with and stop their momentum cold, even with that video replay.

The need to score and the defense to step up for the PTFC is necessary if they are to advance into the conference finals with a foe to determine in the series between the Vancouver Whitecaps and Seattle Sounders.

As the Emerald City squad and its manager, having some troubles with several of his important players sidelined with injuries, still after a draw at Vancouver at zero goals, the outcome of this Cascadia series decided on Thursday at Century Link.

As many, pray for a match up between the Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders in the west final.

Going back to Portland upcoming challenges and uphill battle to stage come next Sunday, this is it for Portland and the way this group all around attitude going to the decisive match considered crucial for Porter and company.

As Darren Mattocks stated of this team not missing a beat that is the overall charge this squad is looking for to display a one of a kind match in its entire ninety minutes.

With Jeff Attinella mentioning the team effort that puts this squad game in the sky.

With past meeting were this club comes inspired and for manager Porter affirming of his being a special group, these guys can deliver when tis group play in unison, hungry and determined.

To win this one, Portland need of speed will resolve this affair with early goals and showing their gam as the way they did against Vancouver, playing with as a band of brothers.

Very well, the defense needs to step up and be dominant in the entire match and for the offensive game the sheer resolve and inspiration looking for the best of results, as this Portland squad can do it and its subs for sure will come ready to show off their mettle.

So far, the likes of Dairon Aspirilla, Amobi Okugo and Jeremy Ebobisse stepped up their game, but come Sunday the need to improve and be far better from the Texans will be one of their utmost of priorities.

Until the next days on training camp the faith of some players will be known and for the Chessmaster creating a criterion as well a strategy to wrap this one up at home and moving on, for now back to the drawing board for Caleb Porter.
