A three-squad race in the West, seeking the last postseason spot

This is becoming interesting in the MLS, in its final stretch as the Western Conference, squads not punched their tickets to the postseason, indeed, and this is becoming interesting.

With just a single squad already assured its spot for the postseason in the Vancouver Whitecaps.

On the upcoming weekends the league resuming its activity after the international break, one of its conferences the Western with the majority of its squads not clinched their spot for the playoffs.

This weekend, squads of the likes of Portland, Seattle, SKC and Houston will look to confirm a spot in the grand fete and fight their way into the grand finale that so far has a squad among the favorites to win it all in the Toronto FC.

Still this is not about the above-mentioned squads but three squads looking forward to seize the last spot of the postseason, after these after struggling in the campaign in the end are showing a sudden revival in their game.

With Dallas FC after a slump in midst of their campaign and posting negative numbers and a possible exodus of two of tis Andean players, the club held firmly and now is recovering from this negative skid and fighting its way up in the table.

Currently Dallas FC after a draw at home against Colorado on Saturday, the Texans could not capitalize on their home field advantage and just defended from the push and pressures of a resilient Rapids squads playing the role of spoiler.

Despite the lone point, this allowed Oscar Pareja and company to leap the likes of Real Salt Lake in sixth place and making a very interesting race to see who can seize the last playoff spot in the western conference.

So far, Dallas FC is in sixth place taking over the spot from Real Salt Lake with 42 points and San Jose pushing hard to see themselves in the big fete too with 42 points and for sure, these two will put on a fight.

The next two weeks of league play being the last and decisive one for these three squads, as many will be following closely how this race will developed and how it ends between these three squads.

I mean the likes of Real Salt Lake, San Jose Quakes and Dallas FC looking forward to make it to the grand dance of the postseason but with one spot left to spare, by the outlook, this is looking interesting.

With Dallas, visiting Seattle and the rave Greens looking forward to clinch their spot in the postseason, tis match will be an interesting one for both squads looking forward to their redemption and especially the Lone Star State Boys.

As their Boss Oscar Pareja will try to lift with the win and three points and await results from RSL and San Jose to increase his squad lead, off course if his Dallas Boys come out of Emerald City with the win.

In the case of Real Salt Lake after suffering a campaign of several setbacks and not positing a winning form in its beginning, all of a sudden, we saw a revival in their game and for manager Mike Petke netting a spot in the postseason will be icing in the cake.

Still with a couple of crucial matches one at Dick Sporting Goods Park in Colorado to face the Rapids in the always contested Rocky Mountain high derby, the locals can play the hated role of spoiler and with a defeat the Claret and Cobalt can kiss the postseason goodbye.

Especially with their last, match at home against a tough and hard to play Sporting Kansas City, despite the Midwest Boys soon to clinch a spot in the postseason, the only advantage for the RSL playing at home in Rio Tinto Stadium.

Another squad making a run for the grand fete of the postseason is the Silicon Valley Boys San Jose Quakes, after letting go of their previous manager Dominic Kinnear, the arrival of Chris Leicht gave a sudden turnaround for this squad for the better.

Now placed below sixth place and tied with RSL with 42 points and with matches against first place Vancouver at BC Place the outlook does not look positive and easy but not difficult for the Quakes to deliver in the clutch.

Very well closing at home in Avaya Stadium against newcomers Minnesota, many see it as an easy match but as you may recall that there is no such thing than an easy foe and the Loons can be a bit of a spoiler.

At the end this a race to follow closely and see who will it be the winning conqueror in the and be in the grand fete of the postseason, as RSL will like to go all the way and despite San Jose pushing hard but anything can happen and for Dallas earning a spot can salvage their troubled campaign.

No science here, at the end the best squad that prevails will emerge as the lone victor and be in the grand fete, still honor the might and efforts performed by to the other squads not making it but still put on a fight.
