The Eagles soared over a surprised and overconfident Chelsea

Finally, a win and stopping a scoreless drought of 731 minutes and a seven match losing skid, the Crystal Place Eagles soared high and defiantly delivered a one of a kind match over the defending champions Chelsea FC.

For Roy Hodgson seeing the fruits of his work since his arrival at Selhurst, he can smile after seeing his initial eleven put on a show and playing with an all-around inspiration and showing all the right moves.

With today’s match in week eight and with the ingredients of a Derby between these two cross London town foes, the Glaziers got the upper hand and after putting in display in a one of kind performance throughout the match.

Not bad from a group of underdogs and a setback for the Blues Boss Antonio Conte looking forward to an easy win and recover from that horrible loss against Man City before the international break.

As the Eagles seeing the return to their initial eleven the likes of Wilfred Zaha, this chap made a whole world of difference in the attack of the locals giving their attack a new dimension and dynamic not seen in the start of the campaign.

Considered in all of Premiership circles as an all-around upset, for manager Hodgson it is a way to restore confidence to his group, elevate their aims of a revival, and a beginning to make a leap out of the relegation spots.

As the colossus of Borough Croydon showing off a total sold out, today the Glaziers faithful did not left disappointed after seeing a display of heroism from its initial eleven delivering all sorts of excitement all afternoon long.

One unit that deserves a total recognition and rising above the occasion was the backfield sent by Palace manager to front in what seems to be a very intimidating and tough offensive Blues attack, seeing its efforts and persistence succumbed to the locals push.

Still this was one hell of a match displayed by the locals looking forward to make amends with their faithful and start something interesting in the Hodgson era, showing off positive signs after their one of a kind display.

Seeing how a the locals taking all sorts of initiatives in the attack and playing on a one on one game against the Champions, it was in the 11 minute when a play started inside the area by Andros Townsend for a well-placed Yohan Cabaye.

As the play interrupted by the Pensioners defensive side Cesar Azpilicueta, the ball ricochets on the Spaniard, after a brief touch by his teammate David Luiz and keeper Thibaut Courtois could do to stop the ball for the first score of the game.

Don’t call the Blues quitters and despite the err Azpilicueta did put on an effort to score with a nice shoot going wide, as the match continue so did the pressure from the visitors until the corner from Cesc Fabregas to a well situated Tiemoue Bayakoko in the 18.

This tied the match and with just six minutes passed the reaction from Conte bunch and they did persevere in their intents, still the match belonged to the home side seeing a sudden awakening in all of its starters not giving up.

Once again, the likes of Zaha in the area shooting a near volley, the blues emulated their hosts with arrivals saved by offside or opportune stops by Palace keeper Julian Speroni who earned his pay today.

Despite his defensive backfield sometimes being beaten and surprised at times with shoots nearing the Speronis area, the Eagles prevailed and thanks to the desperate arrivals of the visitor’s.

The match belonged in full to a Wilfred Zaha delivering in the 45-minute broke the end of halftime and putting the ball behind the nets of Courtois once again beaten for the go ahead and winning goal of the match.

At the end, the multiple efforts of the visitors to at least even the match came up short and the local Crystal Palace Boys went up and never gave their single goal lead to a squad plagued with players known to deliver.
