With some squad’s
sentenced for relegation and for Cork City putting on hold its championship
celebrations after a draw against the Bohemians, The Hoops assuring third place
and a Europe positon along Dundalk playing the spoiler.

As lucky Friday the
13, the actions of the Airtricity League of Ireland started with the battle of
the Rovers, the Shamrock Rovers versus the Sligo Rovers at the colossus of
Tallaght in Dublin.
With a match ending
even and a share of the points between these two, the benefits for these two was
that the Dublin Boys assured themselves in third spot and a European spot.

Derry City netted a
valuable win over a decimated and sentenced to relegation Finn Harps, with the
score of 3-0, all of the attendees in Maginn Park saw how their Candystripes
delivered a valuable win.
With scores from
Ronan Curtis 24 and a double from Rory Patterson 56 and 62, these two were
enough to seal the win and add three valuable points.

Still this delivered
a sort of consolation with a match left in the campaign and so far a couple of
squad’s already destined for the abyss, with a match that saw both squad’s
playing a dominant first half.
The goals from the
Tribesmen came from Eion McCormack 36 and for the Pats Billy Denehy in the 45,
with the draw both squads are looking forward to deliver three points in their
next week matches.

After a long lead by
the Leesiders in first place of over 17 points to one point, now the lead is
reduced to just six points and a couple of matches for City to play to one of
Dundalk, the defending champions do not want to let go.

To close this week of
action, the Saturday match between Limerick and a low flying Drogheda United,
gave the Super Blues the win and three golden points towards their salvation
and stay put on the Republic of Ireland Premiership.
With a lone goal from
Rodrigo Tosi in the 49, sending the whole of Markets Field into frenzy, the
Blues situate themselves with 39 points in seventh place, after displaying a
one tough gem of a defensive match.
