How sweet it is the
joy of winning and in front of your home crowd, at King Power Stadium, as the Claude
Puel era is off to a positive start with a one of a kind win over a hapless and
disoriented Everton.
As both Leicester
City in the course of the week made some significant moves in its helm by
sacking Craig Shakespeare after posting mediocre results and bringing the likes
of the former Southampton manager to take over the troubled affairs of City.
With the Everton Toffees
sporting an interim manager in David Unsworth, the former defender for the School
of Science and U-23 manager, he was looking forward to make an impression on
his bosses with a win that would uplift this troubled squad out of its doom.
However the afternoon
had to belonged to the home side, when the local Foxes saw an all-around
revival in its offense and defense, after Puel made his first moves in his initial
eleven and sending an unorthodox 4-4-1-1
formation.
Still this became a
wondrous strategy for the French paying off for his City Boys as they put a
dent in the visitor’s aspirations to come out with a notable win and end their
skid and everything went their way throughout the whole course of the match.
Not this win puts the
Leicester Boys in a good positon in the overall table in eleventh place and
with twelve points and looking forward to more wins that are important and
leveling their campaign by turning the former champions into contenders once
again.
The upcoming endeavor
for Claude Puel is not an easy one but not difficult to overcome it, as his
past tenure in the coasts of England managing the Saints and delivering a second
place finish in the EFL Cup and an eight spot, still for him being a target of
showing a sort of uninspired football.
This time is the
merry as he is on the brink of shutting up[ many of his detractors that at the
end costed his job in Southampton, and the stage is set for him to maybe finish
among the top spots assuring a possible European spot.
Despite his uphill
battle in the upcoming months of league and internal cup play, Puel aims will
be a bit more ambitious in making this club stage an all-around revival and becoming
a serious foe not to be messing with.
Once again, the likes
of King Power Stadium saw the joy of singing in unison for their Boys success
and feats all afternoon long, especially going into frenzy after their club
first goal via their traditional one two combination.
The rise of Ryad
Mahrez once again was visible and passing to one of his utmost of clients in
Jamie Vardy in the 18 minute sent the whole colossus of Filbert Way to pandemonium
and no later came another brilliant play from Demarai Gray in the 29 to seal
the deal.
The first half became
significantly important for the Foxes in their intent to return to their winning
ways and they did the ultimate of feats in the whole course of the match when
Everton took over and desperately looking for ways for a rally.
At the end not only offensively
the City chaps came out but defensively too as they stopped a possible revival
and attacking reaction from the visitors that at the end lacked a lot of
creativity and inspiration for a late comeback.
Perseverance was the
name of this game and for the Leicester City displaying their one of kind moves
that once made them league champions; hopefully these can make a return to their
old ways and stage a grand response.
