Tonight match put a possible
ultimatum to West Ham Boss Slaven Bilic tenure in the Hammers organization,
after he and his crew succumbed to a resilient and determined Brighton, Hove
and Albion.
The thrill of netting
your first win away was the reward the Seagulls got today in the colossus of
Stratford, London to a near sold out match.
As the visiting Gulls
showed off a lot of dominance and organization in their game that delivered a
notorious and important win in their campaign of promotion.
Today’s win catapults
the Gulls to tenth place and eleven points making manager Chris Houghton a bit
happy that his blueprint plan to succeed in Premiership is taking off in a positive
note.
In the opposite side
of the coin, we have a trouble Bilic making anything to make his initial eleven
works out a sort of miracle or something to end the negative skid that at the
end is putting him on hot water.
Despite the spending frenzy
that the Academy of Football directives did before the season started, the
arrival of important players to reinforce the work of the Serbian in London
Stadium is just going in shambles every time the Hammers play.
Alongside of seeing
how the Irons downfall is putting them near the spot of relegation within two points
of Leicester City occupying the last spot and a win can get them out of the abyss.
Still the afternoon
belonged to an inspired and possessed Brighton’s Glenn Murray double that led
the scoring frenzy for his squad and a win considered after all important in
the newly promoted Seagulls confidence ahead of league play.
As the Gulls started
taking the initiative of the match and despite the Irons arrivals in the posts
of Mat Ryan that alongside his backfield at times outplayed by the locals, call
it luck or sheer resolve of not seeing the clean sheet fall.
With Murray
outstanding performance in the 10 minute taking care or a kick sent by Pascal
GroB, he was in a nice position and his push, opened in a play considered in
the right time and place.
After the game had a
nice back-to-back exchange from both squads, still the perseverance the
Seagulls exhibited throughout the match was a plus for their overall achievement
in the conclusion of this match.
Before the half ended,
the visitors went up the scoreboard on injury time thanks to a nice shoot by Colombian
Jose Izquierdo courtesy of assistance by Davy Propper to make the score to 2-0
and sending the Hammers to break with many questions.
The second half saw
once again a diligent Albion 11 looking forward to extend tier lead until the
75 minute when Pablo Zabaleta flagrant foul over Murray inside that earned the visitors
a penalty that Glen Murray converted for the 3-0 lead.
What match and upset
delivered by a gritty Brighton squad that after a slow start in this nascent
campaign, they are leveling it with pure ambition to win and seal their ticket
to see another day in the ranks of Premiership.
In the case West Ham
United side, today performance was an all-around embarrassment for their initial
eleven plagued with many notable players in Arnatovic, Hernandez, Zabaleta and especially
Hart not delivering.
