The Portland Timbers setting their aims in Houston

Caleb Porter is looking forward to start putting in display the great football his squad is playing lately and despite the bye, his Portland Timbers netted after their finish atop of the Western conference.
The heat is on and opening this conference semifinals on the road, were this has been a sort of Achilles heel for the Rose City squad but aware that they can continue to deliver after a positive run against the Lone Star Boys in this campaign.

Still as I always state that, there is no such thing than an easy foe.

Not only they are going to BBVA Compass Stadium to face off an inspired Dynamo initial eleven but the momentum this squad is coming off with, after eliminating a tough nemesis in Sporting Kansas City.

This a very powerful incentive and motivation the Orangemen will be carrying with them in the field come tomorrow night in the colossus of Texas Avenue that for sure will be filled to its capacity to see the revival of their Dynamo.

After that amazing win at home over a resilient Kansas City, still the uphill battle to perform against the Texans will not be a walk in the park for the Rose City Boys seeking to stop abruptly the Houston drive.

For the Portland squad their success will depend in its entire initial eleven that the Cheesmaster Caleb Porter will send to the field in Compass Stadium, very well if these repeat the performance they did on the Whitecaps this past Sunday.

As the Timbers manager after carefully studying the Houston Boys carefully, he is in need of his squad to step up, deliver, completely in its defensive backfield, and produce another gem of match like the one these produced after shutting down a dangerous Caps attack.

In this campaign you may recall the dominance the Timbers put at home in a win over the Dynamo to a 4-2 score and later in July when the Portlanders were struggling, these almost netted a valuable win away and ended up with a 2-2 draw.

A positive series of results for Caleb Porter and company, still this does not institute a sure win in the upcoming playoffs semifinals as one squad rested and the other one  pumped up will make this face off a bit interesting.

And despite the advantage in this campaign for one squad, I still don’t believe of a clear favorite to take it all but an even series for both squads coming with their arsenals complete to put in play come this Monday as both looking forward to a positive result.

For the winner of game one, this result will dictate the outcome of game two and who comes with the advantage in their favor, the positives and confidence riding in their favor, will be the best strategies of who will be victor.

Nothing is easy for the Portland Timbers and still their confidence after that win over Vancouver in the last match of the campaign will be in the minds of all its players and these ready to front their utmost of challenges.

The conquest of Space City can be within the Timbers reach.

Still with all the respect and caution, that Caleb and company putting in practice his strategies and game attitude to win and nothing less than coming home with a full advantage in favor to seal the deal in Providence Park.
