A rout in Providence
Park as the play-by-play announcer stated after seeing the Portland Timbers
staging an all-around second half revival after seeing the unbelievable with a
rout over a decimated DC United.

Playing one squad
considered as the pioneer in Major League Soccer filled with chivalry and history
of many successful campaigns past, today this squad was no contest for an
inspired PTFC attack.
In today’s match the
Timbers manager made some bold moves by substituting Roy Miller and Zarek
Valentin, returning to the starting lineup the likes of Alvas Powell and Vytas
Andreskevivious.
By seeing how the
Cheesmaster moves paid off at the end, seeing how his squad delivered a gem of match
both offensively and especially defensively, the Timbers win today assured them
a postseason berth.
Inspired and hungry
are the ideal term to describe the game the Portland Timbers perform today in
front of a sold out crowd at home in the colossus of Goose Hollow that todays
was in a festive mood after the Portlanders saw their women’s side the Thorns
win the league shield.

Today, Caleb Porter
made all the right moves.
Still the Capital Boys
came determined and poised to play the infamous role of spoiler and looking
forward to a notorious win, but they did not see how these Portland Boys could play
a one of a kind game of football at home.
After a scoreless first
half for both squads and the number of scoring opportunities these had, many
predicted how the second half would see an offensive display by these two
titans that never ceased to look for the right time.

As Diego Valeri did
the honors scoring his 21st goal of the campaign and tying in the
top of the league golden boot race, Portland was in the scoreboard in the 48
minute.
As stated above when Alva’s
Powell with his left shoot sent the ball in the back of the nets of Steve Clark
that little he could do to stop the volley and the second goal to the delirium
of the Timbers faithful.

Despite the win for the
Portland squad, still these have a compromise next week in the last Cascadia
Derby in the regular campaign, when the Vancouver Whitecaps currently on first place
will come to providence Park to close the regular campaign.
Here will be in play
the Cascadia Cup as well the battle of who will finish in first place in the
Western Conference with the Caps leading the Timbers by just two points in what
promises to be a much-disputed match with all the elements of a grand finale.
Congratulations to the Flamboyant NWSL 2017 Champions Portland Thorns!
