San Jose ready to shake MLS foundations this 2018

New Stadium, GM, manager and game style will be one of the traits the Silicon Valley Boys of the San Jose Quakes, looking forward to erase several campaigns of mediocrity and now looking forward to return to its old winning ways.

With its top Boss working overtime to build an armada of the Quakes, so far his work lauded for such an amazing job that saw the return of this squad to the always-celebrated playoffs and despite the early exit, still an achievement.

After an early exit from Dominick Kinnear an old favorite, here in the Bay Area, his early dismissal came ahead of odd results and his replacement in Chris Leitch uplifted the team to an all-around revival in the end.

One by edging its closest competitors in Real Salt Lake and FC Dallas, to snatched under their noses the last spot for the postseason in a contested race in the Western Conference.

As this squad is under a new direction from their new GM Jesse Fioranelli a man with a vast CV during his time in the Italian Calcio and working with the likes of squads as SS Lazio and AS Roma, his experience was a welcome sight to Avaya Stadium.

Jesse Fioranelli will make one of its utmost of priorities the academy development and immediate use, international scouting and to develop a new identity in San Jose game in injecting youth, dynamism and a seriousness in its attack.

In addition, establishing a mutual collaboration with the German Football Association became another one of his traits and showing his fast approach in making this club an all-around contender in years to come.

Still the work for Fioranelli did not end after the Quakes elimination in the playoffs by the Vancouver Whitecaps; as he immediately put his mind to work and landed a new man to lead San Jose in former BK Hacken from the Swedish League in manager Mikael Stahre.

The first’s order of business for both Stahre and Fioranelli were to make a series of changes in this squad roster in not giving several players contract options as well making a few trades on some players.

Among the first players to come to Avaya were two former Allsvenskan in defender Joel Qwiberg from recently promoted LF Brommapojkarna and forward and golden Boot winner of this association Magnus Eriksson of Djurgardens Idrottsforening.

Recently adding Uruguayan born defender Yeferson Quintana from this country giants Peñarol, adding depth to the Quakes backfield.

The promotion of three players from their USL affiliate Reno 1868 in Luis Felipe, Chris Wehan and Jimmy Ockford, adding a couple of Homegrown Players in JT Marcinkowski and Jacob Akanyirige.

Showing off their seriousness and dedication, these club new directives are giving up to, its youth and academy system support and boost for years to come to open up the doors of opportunity in the big squad.
By combining youth and experience, the whole idea is to build a contender.

Despite some interest in some players from abroad and domestic, and anytime we may hear of an announcement, this club has set its sights in making a decent run that will deliver them a spot in the postseason.
If manager Mikael Stahre adapts quickly to MLS style of play we maybe have a contender that will deliver a sixth place finish in the Western Conference with a spot in the postseason and be a resilient competitor in the US Open Cup.

We have quite a way to see results in the Earthquake’s ready to shake the foundations of whole Major League Soccer and make a return to league primetime and capturing all sorts of headlines just like the good old days.
