Welcome to Major League Soccer LAFC

Welcome to Major League Soccer Los Angeles Football Club, the 23rd squad to call Tinsel Town home and giving it new levels of competition in the Beautiful Game by joining their cross-town neighbors the LA Galaxy.

Giving the so-called Classico’s a new dimension, as the Golden State squads call their derbies, the LAFC is the third squad to join this competition and for sure will make it interesting.

With the City of Angels, having a couple of squads in MLS the sky will be the limit whenever these two play one another and the levels of rivalry these two will bring to the field, for sure these matches will be dubbed as a clash of the titans accompanied by many headlines.

As a long list of names that stand out the likes of actor, Will Ferrell and Earvin Magic Johnson as a long list of prominent investors related to the sports, movies and business conglomerates, is how this squad conceived into a reality.

So far, their front office team went hard at work in order to build an all-around contender ahead of the upcoming campaign were they are aware of the high intensity of competition the league shows off in every campaign.

On July 27, 2017, we heard of the LAFC naming their man to lead this club destiny.

These went on the task of hiring their firs manager in history in a man with an impressive and extensive CV as a manager that includes MLS, Norwegian League, La Ligue 2, English Premiership and   2 national teams in Egypt and USA.

The LAFC directives after careful consideration selected Bob Bradley a man of many experiences and battles fought in various fronts from the collegiate to the likes of English Premiership; this overall knowledge of the game will favors this squad to display a grand campaign.

If this club has been hard at work, you bet, ever since they had a place in the expansion draft as well wheeling and dealing a player or two, under their manager Bob Bradley directions the current state the LAFC has struck gold.

So far, the Angelinos are doing a grand job in the transfers market as they benefited as at the expansion team to select all kinds of talent in tis especially designed draft, very well their shopping spree in the old continent and in the confines of South America, has delivered!

Slowly but surely the way their front office has been hard at work in building in little amounts in what is going to be a total contender, as the first player to call the LA squad home was Mexican International Carlos Vela from Spanish side Real Sociedad.

Still the buck does not stop for the Angelinos, with the arrival of players like Diego Rosi from Uruguayan giant Peñarol as the second DP of the club and followed by Quakes forward from Costa Rica Marcos Ureña.

By reinforcing its frontal attack, other forwards include SKC Latif Blessing and Lanus Rodrigo Pacheco.

Another area that the club has reinforced has been its defensive backfield with Omar Garber from Swiss side Basel, Dallas FC Walker Zimmerman via draft and on free agency Whitecaps Jordan Harvey and Sounders backup keeper Tyler Miller.

By trading the likes of Jukka Raikala and Raheem Edwards for the fourth and fifth selections in the 2017 MLS expansion draft, the FC got the services in its backfield with the experience of Laurent Ciman.

The midfield has been reinforce with Seattle Sounders Callum Mallace and SKC Benny Feilhaber, by now waiting some last minute moves domestically or from abroad to reinforce this area of much need as the rumors place several high caliber players in this squad.

As the LAFC will have its state of the art venue with a 22,000 seating capacity, Bank of California Stadium will show its best galas when they have their home opener come April 29 against their conference foes the 2017 league runner ups Seattle Sounders.

At the end the LAFC with the way this squad reinforced and preparing itself towards their debut on March 4 at Century Link Stadium against the Seattle Sounders, the outcome of this squad looks very positive towards a promising campaign.

Best wishes for success LAFC!
