Forget 2017 as Liam Buckley and his Pats want to put this campaign as a sad episode behind, after his Saints almost experienced the unthinkable of going down the abyss of relegation.
After experiencing a woeful campaign, manager Buckley was a very grateful man after he and his Pats suffered a meltdown in the early stages but at the end manage to rally and stay put in the big circuit.
This comes after getting a vote of confidence to stay another campaign.
As these parts of Dublin Town, Inchicore is seeing how its side is preparing in what seems to be another challenging campaign ahead and seeing how many of its top rated players are moving on to jobs across the English Channel to Scotland and English leagues.
This is a positive, as in Aitricity circles of a league that is producing all sorts of talents.
For the St. Pats returning to claim their place in the top of the Aitricity League of Ireland will be one daunting task ahead by this squad and without any review their aims of building a contender comes by reinforcing it with a group of important players.
After seeing how the defending champions the Rebel Army is reinforcing its side along with newcomers Waterford FC, Bray Wanderers and their cross-town foes the Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers, the need to compete is imperative to see this club return to its old glories.
If you recall last campaign when the Pats and Sligo Rovers persevere to came ahead and see the light of another campaign in the Aitricity League of Ireland.
Despite the new faces, still you need the majority of your last campaign players and making a return to Richmond Park with the likes of Killian Brennan, Owen Garvan, Barry Murphy, Ian Turner, Lee Desmond, and giving goalkeeper Michael Barker a professional contract.
Adding to the list are Ian Bermingham, Conan Byrne and Graham Kelly.
With newcomers in Ryan Brennan-Bray Wanderers, Kevin Toner- Bradford City and James Doona- Shamrock Rovers, and Simon Madden- Shamrock Rovers.
So far, the Pats have made some coup in several players coming to play at Inchicore, thanks to the style of play that its manager Liam Buckley displays and the way this squad campaign is looking promising in disputing the top spots.
As Bucko prepares his squad towards another challenging campaign with a majority of his squad from last campaign returning and the incorporation of new faces, the name of the game is a fast and dynamic start and avoid at all costs a negative run.
After last campaign scare the Saints are up and ready to return to their old winning ways and start netting once again some trophies to the halls of Richmond Park, with a stellar campaign, a forecast for this group will a nice third or second place finish.
In 2018 this Saints can march to the top!
