The Hoops looking to revive old glories

For manager Stephen Bradley entering in his third year in the helm of the Shamrock Rovers, for sure this upcoming 2019 campaign will be business as usual and more to see from this Dublin based club.

After last campaign troubles in its early stages, still these managed to rally in the end of the campaign and leapfrogged the Waterford Blues out of third place and finishing with the last European spot.

As this club struggles, continued after their elimination from the UEFA Europa League in the first qualifying round from Swedish side AIK on a global score of 2-1 in spite of the Hoops tying at Solan in Friends Arena.

With a drought of shields not won by this historic club, seen as one of the most consistent in appearances in the UEFA Europa League since 1957, in the past edition these experienced elimination in the first round.

In addition, of their struggles continued in their participation in domestic cups like the FAI knocked out of this event by First Division side Drogheda United in the first round by a single goal.

Very well in the second round of the EA Sports Cup or League of Ireland Cup their riddance came from another First Division club in minnow Longford Town, exposing this club troubles in the campaign.

Still that was then and now is time to focus on the present for a more profitable future in the eyes and mind of manager Stephen Bradley that these setbacks are somehow a learning experience and this upcoming campaign is business as usual.

As manager, Bradley is aware of the pack and the competition that waits ahead for his Hoops as the majority of the Airtricity squads the way these have been reinforcing themselves to improve their performances and make a dash to the league shield.

Nothing spectacular the Rovers have netted in the transfers market with two players signed so far and a several of last campaign squad making a return to these parts of Tallagh to write a new chapter in the League of Ireland.

However, for manager Stephen Bradley entering into his third year in the helm of the Hoops, the pressure mounts on him after not being able with his side to win a single piece of hardware as well the league since 2011.

The arrival of midfielders Aaron Mc Eneff-Derry City and Jack Byrne- Kilmarnock sets the tone in this squad creativity in its midfield offensively as well step up its defense of the backfield with these experienced players.

With players, making a comeback to Tallagh and looking forward to a standout campaign were these would be looking all sorts of glories to return to these parts of Dublin, as the challenge looks difficult but not impossible.

So far, with Greg Bolger, Dan Carr, Joey O’ Brien, Joel Coustrain, Dean Dillon, Sean Boyd, Sam Bone, Sean Kavanaugh, Aaron Bolger and Brandon Kavanaugh, these lads are determined to rock the likes of all Airtrcity this 2019!

Nonetheless, the Hoops are to improve in some departments, in spite of having a not so bad backfield, in last campaign these did not hold on leads, something these have to fix if these are to compete with the likes of the Leesiders and Lilywhites.

In the end, the league title will not be something happening for them at least if these can deliver some notable results especially in the so-called Dublin Derbies against their cross-town foes that last campaign these had the upper hand over them.

For the Shamrock Rovers looking forward to an all-around improvement in the overall table as third place does not cut it for this club anymore as they are looking forward to  a more notable campaign and looking forward to a run for the league title.
