So far, for Declan Devine he has made one of his utmost priorities of building this squad as a fortress and a frontrunner to face in what looks to be another contested edition in the League of Ireland.
After winning League of Ireland Cup in 2018 or better known as EA Sports Cup under former manager Kenny Shiels, in the end a series of odd results and a not so notable eight-place finish- the club made its moves for a new man in its helm.

The need to build this squad from the bottom up is among one of manager Devine utmost of priorities being its importance to build up a solid defense and make its offensive attack as one of the most dynamic.
By setting up many goals and plans to seize a European spot as well, make a finish in the league top three spots of the overall table if not seeing the possibility of netting the coveted league title as one of his top aims.

So far, the club has made its first moves in the offseason with netting goalkeeper Peter Cherrie- Cork City, defenders Ciaran Coll- Finn Harps, Ally Gilchrist- Shamrock Rovers, Patrick McLean- Sligo Rovers, Ciaron Harkin from Coleraine and the recent arrival of David Parkland- Sheffield United.
Adding the likes of Josh Kerr from Brighton and Hove Albion defender to their January camp and possibly coming to these parts of Foyleside, if he stays in the squad, for sure he will add more depth to its defensive game.

In the end, this this is not over for Derry City in netting more players to reinforce its ranks and put on a fight in this upcoming edition in the League of Ireland as for manager Devine to build an armada of a squad.
In spite of netting some important players in the offseason, the number of players targeted by their man in the helm of around of fifteen will be among one of his feats before the start of this campaign and looking forward to a positive campaign.

Forget 2018 and that lone shield as a consolation for a prize as the Red and White Army front office is looking forward to new horizons as well getting back their squad to its old winning ways under manager Declan Devine.
In the end, Derry City can make a lot of improvement in its game and with new players the aim for manager Devine will be to see an all-around unity in the field, still my forecast a fifth place finish.
