For the Pats looking forward to stop their skid of six matches lost consecutively, after opening the score early in the first half and going to the break with the lead, the second half was to extend their lead or see the visitors revival.
As the Saints with a score in the 25’ by Jake Keegan with a nice header, as the locals were looking a bit dominant and possibly going to deliver the spoils for the Town visitors and with a win aid a little the likes of Cork City.
The second half saw a different game and an attacking Dundalk looking forward to a put a score in the board and these did it in the 51’ minute via the league-scoring leader Patrick Hoban, after an assist from Micheal Duffy pushing the ball.
With the match tied and suddenly the whole of Richmond Park that register a fair attendance saw in disbelief the reaction staged by the visiting squad hungry for positive result and seeing a continuance of their positive streak.

As the pressure from Dundalk step up, so did the moves implemented by both managers and for the Pats Liam Buckley made his three substitutions consecutively in the seventieth minute, still these could not counter on the defensive might of the visitors.
Once again, the mastery of Patrick Hoban put in display in the 90’ minute with another score, sealing the win for his squad with two goals lead to come ahead, and after hearing of the score in Cork City, these are now four points clear of the defending champions.

So far, this win puts Dundalk in the overall table with 61 points with four points cushion over Cork City and for both squads having some rest time after their international compromises and the league just scheduling one match in Ireland’s Premiership.
For Patrick Hoban scoring frenzy earn him a win for his squad as well leading in the Golden Boot race with 21 goals and more to come, I believe firmly that this chap deserves a chance in the Republic of Ireland National team manager O’ Neill!
