The Southampton Saints looking to a prolific campaign and finish

Personally, the Southampton Saints under then manager Mauricio Pochettino left an impression that this club possesses one of the top rated academies in the English Premier squads, despite seen as a small entity.

After the departure of the Argentinian, this club has been under several men in its helm and seeing the poor performances this club was under when almost went down in relegation and saved in the end by their new manager Mark Hughes.

Nice work by the Welsh, coming from a negative dismissal by Stoke City where he netted a negative record and the squad had to go to the ranks of Championship in relegation; still the man delivered under pressure and maintains the club in Premiership.

That was then and now will be a whole campaign with 38 matches alongside FA and EFL Cups competition, being the difference maker for their returning man in the helm Mark Hughes who be put on a huge test of his managerial skills.

Among one of the main challenges of Mark Hughes will be the revival of this club academy being one of its most cherished especially by the big clubs that soon one of its player’s surges is snatch immediately by the big sharks.

So far, the transfer’s market three players been signed to defend the colors of the Saints and this coastal squad looking forward to return to its peak as once these did under Mauricio Pochetino and Claude Puel.

The arrival of former Celtic midfielder in Stuart Armstrong and Mohammed Elyounoussi from Basel and U-21 goalkeeper from Manchester City Angus Gunn so far the club is looking like their investments in youth are back with a bang.

Still with Armstrong and Elyounoussi in the midfield will give this club a boost in its offensive and defensive attack that was once of its miseries last campaign and lacking depth and creativity that led this club to its near doom.

With a busy preseason in China and a home, the Saints are preparing to higher expectations and this time not finish in the edge or 17th place that led them to see the light of anther campaign in the ranks of Premiership.

This time they are for real with returning veterans and maybe some academy prospects that can uplift this club to another cup final as the one these lost to United as well aspiring much higher achievements with a possible finish above the top ten spots.

Still a finish in the middle of the table and if they climb above tenth place will be an overall top of the line finish seeing how this club improvements in the preseason paid off but nothing spectacular in the end.
