A renewed Leicester City looking for its old glories

For Claude Puel looking forward to a successful campaign in King Power Stadium these parts of Leicestershire in the East Midlands. The Frenchman is looking forward to take down the challenge of making a noticeable run with the Foxes.

Coming as a relief after a trouble run for then managers Craig Shakespeare and Michael Appleton just taking over temporarily for two matches, the arrival of Puel uplifted this club away from the relegation spots. The French with a record of 12 wins 10 draws and 9 losses, his drive took this squad to a ninth place finish.

The campaign after winning the shield it’s been a troubled one for the City squad with a parade of managers after Claudio Rainieri left the club after his all-around miracle in the 2015-16 campaign when they won the league.

With a fairy tale of a campaign the tale of the David versus Goliath, the Foxes won the league going against all the odds, very well making a decorous champions League until their abrupt stop in quarterfinals against experienced La Liga Atletico Madrid.

Still the City Boys deliver other possibilities of making a dash to another prominent run and become the darling squad in this contested international competition, but their run cut short by a hardened Madrid.

For Claudio Rainieri after delivering the ultimate of achievements  the next campaign the Foxes endured a tough league run with a series of losses after the title won it looked like a championship hangover, until his dismissal, Shakespeare came to the rescue.

As reality sink the next campaign, once more time the troubles this squad was immersed was nearing the so called relegation spots, being dismissed, now the challenge is for Claude Puel, who has proved his mettle and value managing his second Premiership squad.

The departure of one of its top playmakers and being unable to lure to stay in City for another run, Rihad Mahrez now with the Citizens will be another dare for manager Puel to find his new playmaker in the transfers market.

Currently the Foxes have reinforced their defensive game with the arrival of north Ireland international Jonny Evans from relegated West Brom, Portuguese Ricardo Pereira from Nice and goalkeeper Danny Ward from Liverpool and midfielder James Madisson from Norwich City.

So far, in the preseason the Foxes have shown a new attitude and game style that has uplifted this squad ahead of the new campaign these must front in another contested edition of Premiership.

With the majority of its veterans returning along new faces, the Foxes will try to deliver another notable campaign, to surpass their last ninth place finish and now look forward to more higher spots that can land them a European spot.

This time for real and for returning manager Claude Puel now he has a whole campaign to work his miracles and prove of why his strategies are considered the best and why the Saints made a mistake of letting him go.

A finish among the top seven spots will be considered as an all-around achievement for these Leicester City Foxes, will they make another miracle like in the 2015-16 campaign, is about to be seen.
