This league is not as
easy as it looks, in the case of recently fired Frank De Boer, his brief time
in South London came to an abrupt end after not showing any signs of improvement
with his Crystal Palace bunch.
After becoming the
league first casualty and firing of a manager, here comes the man that used to
handle the English National Team affairs and all of its controversies in that
past EURO 2016, Roy Hodgson.
You may recall as the
English were subject to an all-around embarrassment by Iceland coming as an underdog,
delivered a blow to the Tree Lion’s squad, and sealing the demise of Houghton
of the command of the national team.
That was then and now
is a new beginning and change for the best for Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish
and company who would like to see their Eagle become a contender and deliver
once again a top-notch football.
As the arrival of Hodgson a bit familiar with
Premiership and its style of play will be taken into full advantage by the
South Londoners faithful looking forward to see a revival at Selhurst Park from
its low flying Eagles.
The De Boer era with
just 77 days and nothing to show in game and ambition, that players, directives
and fans see the Hodgson arrival with welcome eyes alike as a new promising beginning.
Still the upcoming
schedule the Boys from South London have are the likes of Southampton,
Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, it does not come easy for Crystal
Palace.
However, for Roy
Hodgson it is time to capture all of the headlines and shine if he delivers against
these so-called giants of Premiership, by retrieving a positive result in a
match or two as well making a triumphant return back to football.
Especially if he delivers,
the unthinkable of Crystal Palace return to next edition of Premiership will deliver
the man a nice hefty bonus alongside with his two-year contract for starters,
still this long-term process and project for Hodgson.
Is something many at
South Norwood are looking forward of the effectiveness and experience this man
brings to this club helm and its success in the upcoming months of league competition.
In addition of this
man experience and well know knowledge of the game itself, do not expect
miracles generated by him via a magic wand or presto, as the way competition in
this league is somehow a bit of a tough contest.
For Big Roy this is
all about another challenge in his career and to deliver, that is all!
Not only winning is
the ideal but making this squad and its players believe in themselves and start
contributing to the welfare of this troubled team that so far in the campaign has yet to score a single goal.
Not easy task ahead
for Hodgson but in the eyes of its directives their trust and hopes are deposited
in this man vast knowledge and experience for a turnaround for the better in
his Glaziers, but will he deliver?
That is the question!
