The Republic of
Ireland had all the elements of delivering a blow to its Georgian hosts and bring
home three golden points, unfortunately, for Martin O’ Neill Boys that could
not sentence the match.
This draw despite the
point earned for the Green Army, has all the elements of a loss and total frustration.
Despite their solid position
on second place, the number of teams seeded in the groups has a certain number
and with the possibilities of not even making it to these stages to qualify to
the next group with the level of high intensity competition in it.
As they state that,
there is no such thing than easy foe and the Republic of Ireland as foreseen by
many, that their Georgian hosts were to play the infamous role of spoilers and
at these did it by displaying a one of a kind game.
That the visiting Boys
in Green could decipher and stepped up its game when ended as well not taking advantage of the
opportunities arising all over the game.
If the Republic of Ireland
elimination, will be a total fracas after their notable performances in the
past Euro were the Greens deliver an amazing game, showing of a lot of
improvement in its game and confidence.
Opposite to today match
and despite playing as a visitor, O’ Neill and company should put more efforts towards
a win that could put them mathematically on the verge of qualification, now
they will have to get a favorable result at home against Serbia.
Another tie at Aviva
can really put the Green Army backs into the wall and despite their last
matches against Moldova and Wales and closing with wins over these, the outcome
for their pass will rely on adverse results towards the Serbian national squad.
Despite the Serbs win
over Moldova, the odds favoring the Republic of Ireland will be the return of
important players to the lineup as well playing at home were these can deliver
memorable afternoons in the field.
As many tabloids
mentioned today draw as disappointment and stumbles as the qualification for the
Republic of Ireland relies on three solid wins but with a couple of difficult games
against Serbia and Wales.
Seriously, this squad
has all the elements of opening well matches the way they did it with just four
minutes via Shane Long early goal but games won on its entirety of ninety
minutes and with character.
Lady luck will play
an important role for the Republic of Ireland in its last matches if they would
like to assure a sort of wildcard spot as a second best place but with competition
from other squads and better points and goals differentials.
The outlook looks a
bit pessimist for Martin O’ Neill to get an ace under his sleeve and delivers a
miracle if this squad does not deliver wins and three points that a win over
Serbia will catapult them to first place in Group D.
Now or never for the
lads of the Foireann peile
náisiúnta Phoblacht na hÉireann!
