The Northern Boys looking forward to Russia

San Marino proved a wondrous gift after a nice win with a 3-0 rout over La Serenissima at Serralvo and looking forward to their Windsor date against the Czech Republic looking for an encore with another marvelous win.

Russia or bust as North Ireland with today’s win assures a prominent second place finish and moving ahead to the next rounds depending on the result against their Eastern European foes at the colossus of Belfast.

Still for Michael O Neill, the North Ireland Boss looking ahead in the remaining matches of the qualifiers with a lot of optimism despite the notable and we can state easy win over an ill-fated San Marino squad.

An amazing win considered as a positive step in the right direction.

The win at Serralvo assures the Norn Iron their sole position in second place in Group C and with a lead over the Czechs of seven points and three crucial matches that can decide their faith if they stand their ground.

With yesterday’s win, the Boys from the North are putting in evidence their will to fight for a spot to the upcoming grand fete of football in Russia by locking a spot at whatever the cost.

Very well, disregarding the status of their foes, the Norn Iron is looking forward to bring a no stopping us attitude to any match they will be playing from now on.

As the match with a double from Josh Magennis in the 70 and 75 that gave his squad a comfortable lead but with the elements of surprise no being discarded if the locals could make one of those moves that could compromise their lead.

The assurance go-ahead goal came via a penalty by Steve Davis in the 78 that seal the deal and became icing in the cake for this match considered as vital and crucial for the North Ireland squad.

With Germany, defeating the Czech Republic the gateway for manager O’ Neill plans opens up more solidly in their favor and looking forward to his plan B to try to deliver the ultimate of miracles with his Green and White Army.

However, the win exposed many flaws for the North Ireland, as his total shot attempts was a whopping 31 with nine of those on target as well as possession in their favor of 78% by being a total dominator.

The question arises for manager O’ Neill seeing his Boys missing errantly the goal posts of the local’s blatantly and just three goals to account for, as well these opening the scoreboard until second half and in minute 70.

This is something that the North Ireland Boss will need to improve if he and his bunch are to deliver the unthinkable of an underdog squad reaching all the way to their third World Cup.
