Under a blood red sky
in Windsor, the Norn Iron deliver a one of a kind win over a depleted Czech Republic
squad saying its goodbyes to their world cup aspirations, but for O’ Neill Boys
it is a go.
With the first half
under control by O’ Neill and company, the Green and White Army delivered its
first score of the afternoon with a nice header by Baggies man Jonny Evans on
the 28 minute to the delirium of thousands in attendance.
No later, the
dominance of the Northern Boys was very notable and as the clock was nearing the
end of the first half, when Chris Brunt on a free kick and with a beautiful
volley sent the ball past Czech keeper Tomas Vacklic.
This goal set the
tone of the match and the Norn Iron playing at home made a difference.
The win delivers a
positive outlook for the Norn Iron as the second best squad with nineteen
points and assuring a possible place in the second round playoffs and these
coming with high optimism to deliver an epic pass.
As today's match sealed
with two of West Brom strongmen in both Evans and Brunt, putting in evidence of what was Van Gaal thinking when
he let Evans go from Manu during his tenure in Old Trafford.
Still the way Evans
is playing lately before the transfers market he did got the attention of
various squads among one of them Man City and Pep Guardiola of his game, what
was Van Gaal thinking?
The Boys from the North
with this win their upcoming matches in October to close out their participation
in the first half, against Germany at Windsor and later traveling to Oslo and
face an eliminated Norway.
After all not only a
notable and important win was delivered today in the colossus of Belfast, the
Boys from the North not only delivered three points of gold, but a first win
over the Czechs, a five game winning streak and seven game clean sheet.
For Michael O’ Neill after
seeing the dying minutes of the game with such a joyous grin, and a stand raucously
chanting about their boys all around feat and maybe delivering a possible trip
to Russia, still there is quite a ways to wrap this up.
Despite the trek seen
as difficult but it is not impossible for the Norn Iron, as they are up for
every challenge thrown to them, but for the Northern squad nothing is difficult
as their minds are set for Russia!
