A brilliant comeback wins it for Arsenal at Emirates

What a way to start a new campaign in the English Premier League, with Arsene Wegner and his Gunner crew showing off their all-around firepower, with a dashing comeback to seal their first win of the campaign.

With Today’s, match of this nascent campaign, the bout between the Arsenal Gunners and the Leicester City Foxes, opening day in Emirates did not disappointed all of those in attendance by witnessing a nine goals shootout.

Exposing by its looks of what is going to be in its competition as one heavily contested one.

After a very conservative, approach in the transfers market, despite these being not close yet, the Gunners only incorporations in  Sead Kolasinac and  Wegner’s target man in Striker Alexandre Lacazette.

That was just what they needed to start this campaign making all sorts of impact as the Frenchman opened up his scoring tally with just a couple of minutes in the game with a nice play created by Mohamed Elneny.

By pushing the ball with a header, Lacazette for sure reminds a little of that great Thierry Henry that delivered many glories to the Boys of Highbury during his time as a Gunner.

Moreover, the former Lyon striker he is certainly heading in the right way to rewrite his own history.

Still the Arsenal mid and backfields were exposed brutally by a rebellious and not so easy Leicester City responding with the equalizer with three minutes past in the 5 minute on a one two combination of Harry Maguire and Shinji Okazaki.

Despite the dominance by the Gunner eleven in the course of the match and getting close to the posts of Kasper Schmeichel, the visiting City Boys did not hesitated to display their moves that once made them the league champions.

As the counter saw a very opportune and on target City Marc Albrighton cross a nice ball to Jamie Vardy who did not think it twice to shoot and beat the likes of Petr Cech in the 29 minute for the go-ahead goal.

The score showing a 2-1 lead for the astute Foxes and silencing the whole of Emirates, the Arsenal Boy’s did not put their efforts asleep and started making their moves, finally in on injury time on with the clock showing 45 minutes.

Came Sead Kolanisac attempt to score his goal and with the failed attempt not being wasted and the rebound taken by a well-placed Danny Welbeck trying the match before intermission to a score tied of 2 goals each.

As the match started with both squad’s looking for opportunities to go ahead in the scoreboard, suddenly we saw that familiar combination of Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy for the last one to put push the ball with a header.

Giving his squad the lead and Vardy dispatching himself with a double, many though that Craig Shakespeare and his Foxes were to deliver an upset at North London after seeing his star forward once again returning of what he does best, score goals!

Still the upper hand was for Arsenals Boss making his moves in the 67 minute in what became the highlight of the match and the difference maker in the 67 minute with Aaron Ramsey for Mohamed Elneny and Oliver Giroud replacing Rob Holding.

As the immediate effect started working for Arsenal with a near shoot by the Ramsey, Craig Shakespeare sent a fresh pair of legs in getting Daniel Amartey for Shinji Okazaki in the 72 minute.

Three minutes later another substitution by Wegner by putting in Theo Walcott for Danny Welbeck, all of a sudden the match was leveling and the Gunners were looking forward for at least the point with a draw.

With the score still 3-2 in favor of the Leicester City Boy’s, their last move of the afternoon came with former Man City man Kyle Ienachao coming for Marty James in a try by the Foxes manager of starting another rally and deliver the go ahead goal.

In the 83-minute Aaron Ramsey taking advantage of a corner, kick via Granit Xhaka to put the score even at 3-3 goals and to the delirium of a sold out colossus of Highbury.

Once again two minutes later after Lacazette attempt blocked by Schmeichel, came the miraculous intervention once again by Granit Xhaka scoring the go-ahead goal and what became the game winner after a furious Arsenal comeback.

Patience did deliver for Arsene Wegner and his Arsenal Boys, still this match exposing a volatile defensive backfield as well more leadership in its midfield and setting the tone of the match for the Gunners.

At the end, this win shows off the new Arsenal and with the possibilities of making a shield of a campaign and without the worries of Champions League play but still playing Europa stage groups.

The aims are to make all-around impact in Premiership as well play a one of a kind and hungry football.
