Celtic looking for Champions League invincibility

The Hoops are back in the big one and with a come from behind rally these assure a spot in the prestigious Champions League were they are to prove why they known in the SPL as the league invincible bunch.

As I always stated and not only me but also many in the world of sports, there is no such thing than an easy foe, and that is what FC Kastana in Kazhakstan proved tonight as one tough cookie playing at home.

With Astana Arena proved to intimidating at times and worrisome for manager Brendan Rodgers after seeing how the locals were mounting on the score and trying for a comeback counting with the support of their faithful.

The achievement created today by the Bhoys was one amazing one and one of a kind to finally seal this one up and enter in the coveted of phases when you are in the knockout rounds, the stage group.

Here they are to play against all of the Europe’s elite or la crème de las crème in football and being the sole representative of the Scottish Premiership, bracing for more challenging evenings at home and abroad.

Despite the home side, winning it by the score of 4-3 the final aggregate score of 8-4 that gave the Celts the win and the coveted pass by sheer determination and seeing their merits rewarded at the end.

As sheer pure determination and a fighting spirit doubtful at times but not giving up on their quest, Celtic FC Boss never stopped believing in his initial eleven and proving his mettle with accurate and definitive moves to seal this one.

My hats off to the crew of FC Kastana for putting on bravado of a show but the Celts need to understand that they should learn their lesson of not taking their rivals too lightly.

Today they had a close scare and thanks to their Celtic Park goal fest on August 16, with a scandalous 5-0 with a double from Scott Sinclair and goals from James Forrest and Leigh Griffiths, to then visitors Kazakhstanis.

As off today due to the constant pressure to the Scots backfield, the tables this time turn against the Celts with an OG from Kristoffer Ajer on the 26 and in the second half, it is when the Blue and Yellows ran a riot with three goals.

Still after seeing the Celts this reaction from their hosts, they hold on with scores from Scott Sinclair 33, Olivier Ntcham 80 and Leigh Griffiths rescuing it with a late goal in the 90 to sentenced this match in favor for the Boys in Green.

Now that the hectic qualification campaign is over, the next step is to wait for the Champions group stage draw on Thursday the 24 of August on Monaco’s premier Grimaldi Forum, here Celtic FC will know its fate and group seed.

A lot to prove for Brendan Rodgers and his bunch in this edition of the Champions League as they can turn things around despite the bookies and odds of them wins it by 500 to 1, but they can push forward.
