The Community Shield exposing an ambitious Gunner squad

Suddenly the tables are turning for the best for the Boys in Emirates, as Arsene Wegner and company are looking hungry and ambitious for this upcoming edition of the English Premier League.

With the always-traditional Community Shield in play, as another showdown between two London Town foes in the league champion’s Chelsea FC and FA Cup winners Arsenal.

As you recall, the FA Cup showed off a revival for the Gunners, after defeating the Blues in this competition.

Not only had the Highbury Boys denied the double for first year Blues Boss Antonio Conte as well a trophy in this type of competitions for the Italian that his luck has not been on his side in these contests.

On the other side after a rough campaign that many in Premiership to other parts in the world asked for the Frenchman resignation, at the end he silenced many of his doubters by defeating the league champions in a stunning fashion.

With Arsene Wegner consolidating in the helm of the Gunners and delivering a shield to Emirates halls and by the way of defeating their arch rivals, this sent an all-around message, looking forward to a spectacular campaign.

Very well for Wegner a sort of sweet revenge when he plays against his cross-town nemesis and playing the role of spoiler as once again we saw an encore at Wembley when he and his Boys delivered the Community Shield to Emirates.

As many see it, it looks like the Gunners have the Blues number as well with back-to-back defeats over the central London Boys in Cup competition, exposing Conte and company weakness and a reality of what is to come in Premiership.

With Chelsea juggling Premiership and Champions competitions, this time the Italian will have his hands full in trying to deliver the shield after seeing his front office directives sending and exodus of players from Stamford Bridge.

Still if these games expose a club desire of winning it all, with Arsenal taking the initiative since the get go of this match with several arrivals at the posts defended by Thiabaut Cortois.

As the persistent Gunners were looking forward to open the score and nearly these did it, when Arsenal’s newcomer Alexandre Lacazette sent a screamer that Courtois just saw hitting the post to the disappointment of many Gunner followers.

For both squads managers call it coincidence or just a simple strategy, both squads played a 3-4-3 formation with the Gunners in the backfield defending Cech were Monreal, Mertsacker and Holding, In the Blues side defending Courtois were Cahill, Luz and Azpilicueta.

Very leveled as both bosses were looking to their midfield to command the actions and match, but in the second half, it is when hell broke loose and despite the first half domination by the Gunners.

The Blues via Moses opened the early score and lifting the momentum of the Stamford Bridge gang, after a couple of yellow cards earned especially with William for diving in the area trying to attract the ref’s attention with a penal.

Despite the early goal, the Gunners were to continue to dictate the terms of this match, although they being so close but with no goals to account for but the unthinkable came for the Gunners in their persistence and seeing their foes with ten men in the pitch.

The official attentive to the play did not hesitated to send off the Chelsea player with a red card to Pedro that became the difference maker in the match even tough being in its final minutes.

As the Gunners, prayers answered with a foe lacking a man and then its newcomer Saed Kolasinac in the 82 finally put a header inside the nets of Cortois who really showed off its mettle with a gem of match.

After the end of the match signified the start of the infamous penal and the implementation of the so-called ABBA, system that at the end deliver another joy and trophy for the Emirates Boys as well uplifts these squad hopes of a banner of a campaign.

As we went to the PKS, Chelsea opened up successfully with Chelsea Gary Cahill delivering, follow by Arsenals Theo Walcott, then the ABBA system with Nacho Monreal putting the ball way far from Courtois reach.

Then Thibouat Cortois and Alvaro Morata from Chelsea miss on their tries, leaving the door open for Oxlade Camberlain and Oliver Giroud delivering the winning goals and the Community Shield to the colossus of Highbury.

At the end, the Gunners showed off mettle and character throughout the match and domination despite not capitalizing on their scoring opportunities by sheer luck, but one thing for sure this squad finally can deliver the elusive Barclays Shield.
