Harsh doses of reality for Newcastle United return to Premiership

For Rafael Benitez it will not come easy for him and his Magpies, as reality kicks in their return to Premiership, seeing how this campaign will not be an easy endeavor.

With a club of the likes of the Geordies with a longtime history and notable performances in the English Premier League past, that delivered many glories to this club as well wrote its name in gold for its achievements.

Now it is a bit weird for this club once accustomed every one of seeing it in the league spotlights and making all sorts of headlines in this association, seeing it as newly promoted.

The Spaniard is well aware of the upcoming fight he and his Toon Boys will have to face off in order to return this club among the elite they once belonged too in EPL.

After all being in Championship were it made their authority stand and display a one of a kind campaign by winning this association trophy as the best club and first to earn such honor.

Opening day finally came and Saint James Park lived the hype of Premiership after its return to the big circuit and looking forward to a notable campaign and making a good stand in the table for its permanency for many years to come.

Still the tug of war between Rafa and the club owner Mike Ashley in reference to his involvement and more aggressive investment in the club which Ashley simply states of his lack of monies to deliver more talent to the Toon.

In a few words, Benitez will have to do with what he has in roster left from Championship and its seven new players that include the likes of Javier Manquillo from Atletico Madrid and Christian Atsu from Chelsea to mention the most important.

However, opening against the league last edition second place squad was not an easy endeavor for Rafael Benitez but this is football and he gladly took the challenge until that stupid play from his captain over the Spurs Delle Alli.

Leaving his squad with ten men and playing one of the most effective offensive attacks known for its creativity and utmost sense of scoring with a variable of weapons in its initial eleven.

Still this is just one match out of many in this nascent edition of EPL and maybe NU can level its campaign and start displaying the football that saw a revival of this club and can be back in business.

As Benitez will have to prepare his group for next week match, that for sure he will not have in his lineup the likes of Jonjo Shelvey that thanks to his outbursts cost his club dearly in points and momentum in this match.

In addition, the actuality that this club owner has to tackle in this and many editions to come will be one tough one as the levels of competition in EPL are becoming more and more demanding and in order to win trophies you need to invest dearly.

Something that he has shown certain stinginess or he does not has the resources to compete with the so-called giants of the league in order to build an all-around contender that can stand the game and competition.

This is not a one-man show in the Toon, as this club needs to organized and leave the nervousness behind, as several players are not strangers in Premiership as well for Rafa Benitez this is not his first rodeo.

At the end both club ownership and manager need to stop their differences and maybe in the winter market the Spaniard can get the players he desires to front the second half of the campaign, as for Ashley reality stinks when you have to compete.
