For Shane Keegan
setting his mind and efforts with his Tribesmen in this campaign is to see
another edition of the Airtricity League of Ireland by delivering his squad
salvation.
Forget trophies from
the association internal cup competitions, as the ultimate of goals for this
man is to fight for his the permanency.
As this win over a
renewed Finn Harps squad puts the United Boys a point away from ninth place
Saint Patrick’s Athletic that are to play at the Showgrounds against a
persistent Bit O’ Red Sligo Rovers.
A win for any of
these squads will keep the Tribesmen in the hunt for points in every match
played and looking forward to deliver wins that at the end will deliver them
the promise land of the league of Ireland Premiership.
However, it won come
easy for the United Boys.
Still the Galway
Bunch did it with style at Ballybofey with a resounding win over their hosts to
a 3-1 rout and well taking advantage of all the opportunities Keegan and
company had all afternoon.
Especially when lucky
13 minute hit with an opening goal from Gavan Holohan to give the Tribesmen the
lead and the momentum that his squad never lost at the end, until the equalizer
came via a penal from Harps Eddie Dsane.
By equalizing, the
score on injury time both teams were deadlock going into halftime at goal
apiece.
Not even six minutes
passed with the Harps Paddy McCourt received his second yellow card and sent
off to leave his squad short ten men and here is when hell broke loose in favor
of the visitors as they sure took over the match.
One by seeing an
inspired Ronan Murray scoring a double in the 76 and later on the 83 to seal
this match as well delivers a valuable win as well start going against all odds
and does the unthinkable of making a stand.
As mentioned before the momentum this squad is
going through after defeating a hot streaked Fin Harps after Ollie Horgan squad delivering in
five matches nine points out of fifteen and winning three important matches.
Unfortunately, for
the Blue and White Army, these meet their match today and with an inspired
Galway United that became the spoilers and stop their positive streak.
Still for Galway it
is not over yet as they have to battle with the likes of the Pats and Bit O’
Red Sligo Rovers in their survival and making a close and tight race in the end
for these three salvation.
Give those Galway
Boys a cigar for their feat and grand win away over those hardened Finn Harps
in the so-called relegation Derby, now it is now or never to make their case
and they are aware it will not come easy!
