Dundalk must overcome a hardened Bate to prevail

For Stephen Kenny Dundalk FC Boss, he and his Boys have a mission impossible if they want to continue with their date with history and do the impossible of advancing into the next rounds of the always-prestigious Champions League.

Last night for the Lilywhites they could not took advantage of their visiting status to at least net a draw and go with the away advantage back to Dublin.

With the second leg match played in Dublin’s Tallaght Stadium, Bate Boss is poised to whatever cost to defend his squad one goal lead and try the ultimate of feats of repeating last year’s dose to the Airtricity League Champions. As many state about this series being one of getting even by the Ireland squad, after their elimination, now for Dundalk it’s a do or die situation to net a couple of goals into Bate posts.

As many foresee a very defensive game displayed by the Belarusians, as well try to see another gap in the Lilywhites defense to seal the deal with an away goal and once again show off their dominance over their Irish foes.

Anything can happen in the return match as last night in Borisov Arena the visiting Dundalk squad was very poised to make it happen, showing off a very stingy defense and not allowing any pressure from the local strikers to make things happen.

Still the locals had the overall advantage over a very fatigued Dundalk defensive backfield that fought on for 70 minutes until the arrival of Mikhail Gordeichuck who deliver the lone score and what the Bate Boss thinks will be the winner at the end.

When you see the tale of the tape, I must state how in charge the locals were and motivated by their followers as well seeing the final numbers for the overall advantage. As Bate tried its best with 23 shoots against Gary Rogers’s posts, alongside seven of those shoots were on target versus only three attempts and one in target by the visitors.

As the Dundalk keeper was one very busy bee all night long by blocking seven shoots versus his foe with just one, alongside seeing a very aggressive and stingy defensive Bate backfield who did not allowed any opening to the visitors. Although many saw a 4-4-2 formation in Dundalk, the midfield became an ally of the defense to stop the locals offensive cold until that err that opened the score.

Now as Dundalk has to prepare for their next compromise ahead, now they have to take their condition of local in their favor despite playing outside Oriel Stadium and in its place at Dublin’s majestic theater of Tallaght Stadium. No problem, because the Lilywhites they will be represented by its followers and thousands of Irishman rallying behind their Boys to support them and make them seal the deal.

Coming august two, Stephen Kenny must rally his troops and inject them a lot of enthusiasm and ambition to wrap up it once in for all. This is one determined group of individuals looking forward to continue their Champions dreams.

Although Bate is up ahead with one goal, this second leg can be a wrap for the Dundalk FC squad known to display a very dynamic and amazing game that has net those three league shields and going for their fourth, this club can make it with a little help from its inspired eleven.

The Lilywhite Boys can and will prevail to advance into the next stages!
