Hump Day Football: An inspired afternoon that led a goal fest at Emerald City

What an afternoon the Seattle Sounders initial eleven had against Western Conference leaders Dallas FC when it’s Manager decided to sit down several of his starters. As his initial plan was to rest his players after the league strenuous schedule,  prepared for many of its squads, still he decided at the same time to observe other of his players.

Not against the Sounders despite the struggles the squad of Sigi Schmidt is been going through and seeded in last place, it looks like Oscar Pareja the Dallas Manager underestimated the locals and learned his lesson.

With a 5-0 rout and a sudden goal fest, the Sounders came out of a miserable slump they immersed in lately, both in wins and in scoring, so far they got the best of their offensive might this squad is known for. Very well, with this win they go a bit pumped out to their weekend compromise against their I-5 rivals the Portland Timbers in their first meeting of the year in the always-contested Cascadia Derbies.

Finally Seattle saw a complete initial eleven in the field and among one of them his leader in the defensive core in Brad Evans conducting his fab four with an immaculate defending that  at the end they gave their keeper a well-deserved clean sheet.

Still this squad did not stopped cold in its tracks, with a play initially that Dallas  player in its defense- Maynor Figueroa seeing red after a hand play ball inside the area, the Sounders opened the score with a PK via Clint Dempsey for 1-0 with just six minutes in the game.

The first half saw a Sounders squad crowning their effort’s with two more scores, with Andreas Ivanchitz with a combination with Osvaldo Alonso for the 2-0 with eighteen minutes in the game and the 3-0 in the 22nd from a one two punch from Dempsey to rookie sensation Jordan Morris.

Going at halftime the Sounders enjoyed a 3-0 lead, still this did not assured the locals a sure victory as this could been anybody’s game, with the big D paying a top line football maybe we had coming a reaction in the works for the Texans.

At the end that so-called reaction was just in many people’s thoughts, as the Rave Greens were so inspired with its initial eleven, soon the referee blew his whistle the Sounders fireworks  where immediately seen.

In the 61 and 73, Joevin Jones and Cristian Roldan immediate became present in the scoreboard and showing off their Sounders might and all around hunger and playing with a total inspiration seen from the Seattle Boys.

A  great match and display of what this Rave Greens squad can do as they prepare in a very contested two weeks of MLS action before the All Star break, as every match and set of points  will count dearly and for the Sound Boys getting off the cellar will be tops.

The negative for this match was the two red cards both squad players received each, but the one that really hurts the most is for Seattle’s top player Clint Dempsey that will miss the Cascadia Derby.

Deuce card came in the 33rd   , when he lost his head and slapped Dallas midfielder Esteban Ortiz in the face for an automatic red and a blow to his squad on their upcoming match and their quest to get out of the cellar, very well netting a possible fine.

At the end, the Seattle Sounders are one tough client to deal with and last night at Century Link Field, they showed off their mettle and belligerence as a team not to be messing with in the rest of this campaign. With the offensive might and explosiveness that we saw from this initial eleven, we really believe that this squad is not out for the count but ready for many more amazing things.
