On the road, a valuable point for the Sounders is a positive

Going to BMO Field in Toronto and get a mingy point in the eyes of many of the Seattle Sounders detractors, is a welcome sight ahead of an interesting campaign ahead for the Emerald City squad. As you are aware of the Rave Greens current state of its football, a very negative one and that has almost cause this squad to caress the Western Conference cellar.

Still after the league break for the Copa America celebrations, many squads have been without their key players in their initial elevens as the case of Seattle missing Clint Dempsey who did not suit up and Brad Evans with a minor injury.

Another blow this squad suffered is when their offensive orchestrate and scores in Oba Martins left to play in China's new Premier League for a hefty sum not that hurt the Rave Greens offensive attack.

The state of the Sounders attack fell into Deuce Dempsey and newcomer in Seattle’s local soccer prodigy Jordan Morris, by the way, this chap is playing lately, his club should not miss the Nigerian strikers, still this club is in need of many help.

After the Sounders win in midweek over archrivals Real Salt Lake in the US Open Cup and advancing to its quarters, this time their league match scheduled in BMO Field in Toronto to play the hardened TFC and its constellation of stars. As Sigi Schmidt knowing of the rival ahead and despite the Reds missing some key players in its initial eleven, the Sounders Boss did not risk anything for this match by putting in the field a very tight 4-3-3 formation.

Among one of his utmost of priorities for Manager Schmidt was his backfield, after missing his key man Evans due to injury, his outside players in Joevin Jones and Tyrone Mears reinforce a central defensive wall of chad Marshall and Zach Scott to counter TFC offensive attack. One of them headed by one of MLS most lethal of strikers in Sebastian Giovinco easiness to get into any opposing squads nets as well stops his scoring frenzy.

For the Sounders offensively their Boss sent another trio to try in get into TFC nets and overcome their stingy defense considered one tough to beat, still their minus were many absences of players in the DL and getting some time off.  With Jordan Morris surrounded by Andreas Ivanshitz and Aaron Kovar the Rave Greens had its attack in place.

The momentum still belonged to the home squad and its constant attacking into Stefan Frei posts, which at the end the visitors backfield defended brightly and only allowed one goal, after the TFC multiple attempts. Among one of the notables in this game was shutting down TFC striker Giovinco so blatantly all afternoon long.

As the match ended in a 1-1 tie, the Sounders really overcome their hosts push after seeing score their only goal of the match and within a minute Jordan Morris scored the equalizer and what was to be the final score of the match.

For now the Seattle Sounders are in need to add points to their favor and win important matches in this July and August stretch if they are to be among the top six squads in the West to take part of the postseason. With one of their most important and considered a tough one when they play their bitter rivals in the so-called Cascadia Derby against Portland Timbers.

By the way their I-5 rivals are playing lately the Sounders will be in need to step up their game and hunger if they don’t want to see their postseason appearances interrupted for tier first time since their inception.
