Levadia Tallinn was
no opponent for the lads of Cork City, by finalizing their first round with a notable
win at Turners Field, with a final 6-2 aggregate to advance into the next
round.

So far, the Leesiders
have a foe to tangle in AEK Larnaca from Cypress, scheduled on July 13 at
Turners Cross, considered as a very emotional match for City top gun Sean
Maguire, playing his last match at home.
As the league-scoring
leader, the striker will be playing his last matches with Cork City in the international
stages, and then moving to his Championship side Preston North End of this
English association.

Going to the match,
with a nice capacity crowd at Cork colossus Turners Cross Field, the locals
cannot state the lack of support from their faithful that never stopped their chants
and cheers to motivate them in the course of ninety minutes.
For the locals they
knew of the intentions of their Estonian guests and to turn the
score around and generate an all-around upset to their hosts Cork City.
As the match started
the Levadia squad did not stopped in its intentions of making an all-around
impact in every minute of the match and putting in peril the arches defended by
City keeper Mark McNulty.

With the City chaps
looking a bit nervous and conceding a couple of free kicks and Sean Maguire committing
a foul, the pressure from the Levadia bunch was very visible in the start of this
match.
No later when the
visitors became visible in the scoreboard when Egvenni Kobzar scores the
opening goal in the 15 minute to give
his squad a breather and opening the possibilities of a comeback.
However, Levadia did
not counted on seeing an inspired Karl Sheppard, who in the 28th minute
equalizes the match at one goal apiece, but the commotion the City striker
started was to be shoot-up by Levadia’s striker Nikita Andreev in the 33”.

With a treble in this
afternoon at Turners Cross, it was a way to say his goodbyes in what are his
final games and in the minute 46’, 86’ and 90 he sealed the deal for his Cork
City squad.
At the end that is football
when the City lads were doing well and enjoying a winning momentum these will
be without the services of Maguire and O’ Connor leaving to England and here
will be a test for Manager John Caulfield.
By juggling league,
Cup competition in Ireland and international stages, these chaps will be missed dearly in
the rest of the campaign for the Leesiders, looking forward to maintain their advantage
over Dundalk as well their perfect run in the remainder of the campaign.
