Swansea City not looking for miracles just primetime

Call them the comeback kids, as the Swans did pull a one of a kind campaign, when these rally after looking down in the canvas and made their efforts speak for themselves by seeing another day in the ranks of Premiership.

With a see saw of a campaign, after the arrival of Paul Clement and a brief revival, the Swans struggled with a few matches and time running out for them.

After staging a close race and the AFC Boys holding the last spot in relegation, many thought that Hull City and Crystal Palace near salvation.

Suddenly things turn out for the best for the Swans, to finish in 15 place and save itself from relegation.

As Hull City, Middlesborough and Sunderland became the unlucky ones relegated to Championship.

So far, the Swans are preparing for a campaign with many challenges as well looking to make a stand in what seems to be another contested edition in EPL.

Also looking forward of not finishing just above the relegation spots.

Nevertheless, the goal for second year manager  Paul Clement will be to keep his squad way above the top spots if possible, with an all-around challenge ahead of him as this time he has to manage a full campaign.

A squad known for its limited monies to spend in the transfers market but with a marvelous sense of vision, this time so far with four players signed for the upcoming campaign, the Swans are betting on the future of its youth.

The arrivals at Liberty Stadium of Erwin Mulder- Heerenveen, Roque Peña- Las Palmas and Tammy Abraham- Chelsea reinforce much needed areas in the Swans lineup.

The incorporations of Marc Walsh- Finn Harps, Kees de Boer, Jayden Smith and Arnor Gudhojohnsen to their academy programs will be a risk well taken as all of these chaps show up a lot of potential.

No doubt, that one day these will be in the starting lineup.

With last campaign squad in its majority twelve of them leaving to other destinations, the ball is on Clement side to build a squad according to his demands as well and make it a contender throughout the 2017-18 campaign.

“It’s good to be back,’’ declared Clement, “and everyone is looking forward to the new season”.

Wise words from an optimist filled man looking forward to many prime time seasons in Liberty Stadium and a long stay in the top circuit as well looking forward in this and other campaigns for more reward filled finishes.

Very well, the Welsh Boys are back and ready for business and end the aims of its Boss will be to finish above in the top spots in the table and not worry in the end to fight for its survival to stay away from the relegation fight.

The Swans have a series of ambitious friendlies, against Barnet, touring America and facing MLS Philadelphia Union, USL Richmond Kickers and North Carolina, then returning to England and face off Birmingham and closing against Italian side Sampdoria.

These matches will be a good preparation for the Swans to open Premiership action against Southampton in Saint Mary’s and coming home to face Manchester United and visiting Seelhurst to face off Crystal Palace.

At the end the mood in Liberty Stadium is one joyful one signaling a new era with sponsor, fighting attitude in its manager and squad, the Swans are up and ready to display a new image in its squad of a top fighting machine.
