Three Airtricity
League of Ireland squads are looking forward to continue on their European adventure
as their second round advancements and one looking forward to advancement into
the next stages.
With the Shamrock
Rovers and Cork City looking forward in their not so impossible mission, the
heat will be on for both of these two and are in need of a win in order to
continue alive and kicking in Europa.
However, for the lads
of Dundalk FC going to Norway and doing the unthinkable against a resilient and
top squad BK Rosenburg, will be one amazing challenge for Stephen Kenny and his
Lilywhites.
After a match that
ended in a draw, after the visiting Vikings putting the equalizer, all of a
Sold out Oriel Park went silent but not pessimist, as they believe in their Boys
to stage an all-around comeback and seal the deal.
So far the mood in
Oriel Park among the players with all to play for, it is possible, it was
brilliant, the attitudes towards their next Wednesday match in Lerkendal
Stadium in Trondheim to continue this amazing European trek.
A win tomorrow in
Trondheim and the Dundalk Boys already have a new opponent and with the one and
only Celtic FC a third, round bout that will become a bit interesting.
After all the Celtic
Boys showed off a mastery over their Irish foes at Tallaght, but the Lilywhites
can overcome and prevail at the end, but first things first, Trondheim or bust.
With both Rebel Army
and Hoops embarked in their Europa League compromises and going against all the
odds, this after both lost at home to their respective foes in Cyprus AEK
Larnaca and Czech side Mlada Boleslav.
Now it’s up for both
Shamrock Rovers and Cork City to stage an all-around comeback to continue on
their international adventure and see if they can pull a miracle at the end
with a pass into the coveted stage group.
For the Shamrock
Rovers after staging a comeback in Tallaght but their rally arrived a little
too late, with the final score of 3-2 the visiting Czech side took home a valuable
victory away where it counts the most.
With a match at the colossus
of Mlada Boleslav SKO Energo Arena, the pressure and all eyes will be on Stephen
Bradly side in how well they perform and overcome the goal differential and
come out with a valuable win in Czechoslovakia.
For the Rebel Army
facing an unknown in AEK Larnaca and battling a goal differential, the heat is on
but with the presence in the frontal attack by their departing striker Sean
Maguire.
The tables can turn
in favor of the Leesiders in AEK Arena in Larnanca, Cyprus, a win there and a performance
like no other by Maguire and company will be the ultimate of gifts for Cork City
and its Boss John Caulfield.
Nothing written for the
league of Ireland squads looking to run the tables in their favor as Dundalk FC,
Cork City and Shamrock Rovers can do the ultimate of miracles, despite the odds
against them.
There will be one way
to find out come Wednesday 19 of July for Dundalk and on Thursday July 20 both
Cork City and Shamrock Rovers if they can seal the deal!
